Bankole Muneer, managing director of MedView Airlines has called on the Federal Government to look into the issue of aviation fuel and the numerous charges paid to agencies by airlines .

This is just as he said that 40 percent of its revenue is spent on aviation fuel. Airlines pay charges such as landing and parking charges, passenger service charge, en-route navigational charge, ticket sales charge and other.

While speaking to journalists at MedView headquarters in Lagos to cap the end of the year, Muneer added that the fuel issue and other charges being paid to agencies is eating deep into airlines’ finances.

The MedView boss said that when the issue of aviation fuel and charges are addressed more airline operators will join the airline business.

According to him, “the five percent ticket Sales Charge (TSC) is enough, but we still pay aviation agencies for the services they render; the federal government needs to harmonise these charges, airlines in Nigeria should have a direct source where they take aviation fuel,” he said.
