`As the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Aerodrome and Fire Fighting Service(ARFFS) celebrate International Fire Fighters’ Day, George Uriesi, managing director of FAAN, has assured aircraft fire fighters that it would ensure that all the regulatory requirements by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority(NCAA)and the International Civil Aviation organisation(ICAO)are provided.
Uriesi gave the assurance while speaking at the first celebration of the International Fire Fighters’ Day in Nigeria at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (NCAA), Lagos. Uriesi was represented by Henry Omeogu, the director of operations.
Speaking further Omeogu hinted that today fire fighters of FAAN are provided with the state-of-the-art fire tenders available anywhere in the world.
Training, he said, is receiving added impetus while training facilities are upgraded at the central training school in Lagos to cope with the emerging demands of the transformation programme in the aviation sector.
