A day of fashion, fun

This season is indeed one of the memorable ones as Happenings magazine and online media Happenings9ja played host to celebrities, guest and exhibitors at the Victoria Crown Plaza (VCP) Hotel in Victoria Island, who played host to this sensational event of “Best of Designs” to showcase: music, dance and comedy, which took place on Sunday with a red carpet before the follow up of the main event.

First of its kind of show,  by Happenings9ja brought us Best of Designs which was inspired by African prints from Daviva by Nigerian designers such as Mistics fashion, Allenzo clothing, Gentle inspired, Dress up, as well as Graces Hats all displayed by the lovely models who graced the stage wonderfully. The event which was to portray our indigenous designers use African prints to take fashion to the next level.

The event was a good one for music lovers as Yemi Alade brought so much fun, excitements and energy to the crowd as she performed some of her hit songs: Johnny and tangerine as she moved around looking for Johnny while taking selfies with the guest. Seyi shay also brought the same energy as her counterpart did as she performed her new track -– Crazy featuring Wizkid and Murder featuring Patoranking and Shaydee too while Chuddy K gave us his best of Gaga on stage and there were more music performance by other artist too.

Top Nigerian dignitaries who graced the event are representatives from Expression, FM group, Daviva as well as foremost Nigerian designer, Data Okorodudu ( JD7 Couture), WSI, Airtel, Metro fm, Pongracz wine and the CEO of Happenings Magazine; Chief Ediri Abamwa.

Fashioned inspired event was on point as well as the well dressed guest in their lovely attires and dresses all in a bid to make a fashion statement and to keep up with the trends as they all flaunted it on the red carpets.

Comedy was a statement not to pass by as the host Sweet mouth actually lived up to the name as he continually trilled the guest as he held the mic. An exceptional comedian of the event Kenny Blind made the audience laugh so hard that a lady’s tummy was about to explode as other comedians took turns.

Claire staal an expatriate of Jovago, a travel and hotels booking group said “it was an enjoyable evening for me, and I really would be glad to have some of the designs for myself”.

I am glad to have attended Best of Designs as my expectations was not cut show, I was impressed with the fashion show and the artist too and I am glad I was able to take Yemi Alade’s picture too, she laughs said a guest, Henrietta Emmanuel from Stelmas Unisesx fashion.

For all who attended the Best of Design show could testify that it was a time well spent to relax and have fun.
