The eagle is not just a bird. It is a symbol of vision, strength, renewal, and mastery of the skies.
Every part of its life carries a lesson about leadership, growth, and personal power.
If you observe the eagle closely, you don’t just see wings. You see principles.
Squarely, Nigerians should not continue to mortgage their future and that of their children for a bag of rice, spaghetti, or detergent.
There is increased insecurity, nepotism, inflation, poverty, and a high cost of living. The 2027 general election on the other hand, provide a strong hope of liberation from all these menaces.
Like Eagles, which do not fly with sparrows, ravens, or other small birds. They avoid the noise, the distraction, and the limitation of low flight. They soar far above where ordinary birds can survive.
Likewise, Nigerians should stay away from narrow-minded candidates and their campaign strategies that drag the country down. Not everyone of such deserves access to our dreams, plans, or energy.
Eagles fly with eagles and Nigerian should cultivate same spirit and elect those who can challenge them, stretch and sharpen their creativity and elevate the country into a productive nation.
An eagle can spot a prey from up to five kilometers away. Even when the target is hidden, even when the terrain is rough, the eagle locks in and does not lose focus.
Storms may come, winds may push, obstacles may appear, but the eagle never removes its eyes from the target until it captures it. We should elect leaders who know where we are going and distractions lose their power. Our vision of being a strong, discipline nation should remain natural.
Remember, Eagles do not eat dead things. Therefore Nigerian must avoid materials gifts from politicians but evaluate them on their positives impact on the country.
We should look for leaders with flesh ideas that can match our current challenges just like the Eagles which feed only on fresh prey. They do not scavenge. They do not survive on leftovers. They do not live on what is already decaying.
Leadership demands renewal. Nigeria should leave the past to where it belongs — in the past and keep hunting for new ideas and new goals that will take us to new level of our national life.
When storms gather, most birds hide.
The eagle becomes excited. It does not fight the storm. It uses it. The powerful winds lift the eagle higher, carrying it above the clouds where there is calm, clarity, and sunlight. While others are struggling to survive the storm, the eagle is rising because of it.
The insecurity and economic hardship challenges are therefore not meant to destroy us. But enables us to learn and come out strong in our reasoning and to develop same to operational reality. Pain builds perception. Pressure builds power. Resistance builds reach. We should not continue to fear hard seasons. They are not setbacks. They are setup points
Head on:
Like eagle, avoiding the distribution of bags of rice, often referred to as “stomach infrastructure” requires a campaign strategy rooted in dignity, policy engagement, and grassroots mobilization. To move beyond food handouts, campaigns must demonstrate commitment to long-term welfare, such as infrastructure development, job creation, and youth engagement.
There should be a shift from charity to credibility. Instead of promising future handouts, highlight tangible, completed projects such as roads, clinics, schools as evidence of genuine commitment to the people.
The campaign strategy should be framed around restoring dignity rather than merely managing poverty. Use messaging that urges voters not to trade their future for temporary, immediate relief.
Campaign on policies that tackle the root causes of economic hardship such as reducing unemployment, improving education, and securing lives—rather than offering relief materials that only provide a week of support.
Engage with voters, particularly the youth, on digital platforms where they are active, rather than relying solely on traditional, physical rallies. Run campaigns that educate voters on the consequences of vote-buying. This sensitizes them to hold leaders accountable for the quality of their governance rather than their charity.
Politicians should engage in community dialogues to discuss real solutions, allowing voters to voice their needs directly, rather than through transactional handouts. Targeted skill acquisition and vocational support.
Instead of food, invest in providing vocational tools, seed capital for small businesses, or training workshops that offer lasting economic empowerment. Partner with communities to build small-scale infrastructure they actually need, such as solar streetlights or clean water initiatives.
Encourage voters to photograph and post online what development projects are happening in their wards, creating a competitive atmosphere for politicians to deliver infrastructure rather than food.
Politicians should rather emphasize an honest, transparent, and approachable candidate profile. By focusing on these strategies, campaigns can move from being transactional to being transformational, winning loyalty through trust rather than commodities
