“Nigeria is one of the countries China CAMC Engineering is interested in investing .We have great interest to open our businesses right here in Nigeria by partnering UNIDO, the government of Nigeria and the private sector. I believe that there is a lot we can do in Nigeria in the area of agricultural collaboration.

“China is eager to work with African countries in investment, capacity building and long-term cooperation in agriculture, industrial development and water treatment related areas. So, with UNIDO’s support and partnership, China CAMC Engineering will like to do more projects in Nigeria.”

In her welcome address, Adebisi Olumodimu, head of UNIDO ITPO Nigeria, who was represented by the deputy head, UNIDO ITPO Nigeria, Safiya Usman, assured the China CMCA delegation of UNIDO’s partnership and support in the area of investment and technology promotion.

“UNIDO Nigeria ITPO, which is the first of its kind in Africa, is responsible for promoting investment, and technology acquisition in Nigeria and Africa. We are ready to support and partner China CAMC to achieve their investment goals in Nigeria,” Olumudinmu said.

Chuma Ezedinma, officer in charge of UNIDO regional office in Nigeria, said UNIDO would support and partner China CAMC Engineering to promote and attract investment into Nigeria in line with the organisation’s mandate and thematic areas of focus.

Chuma said: “UNIDO‘s mandate and thematic areas of focus covers investment, entrepreneurship, poverty reduction environment, renewable energy and trade.

“Our interest in China CAMC Engineering is to showcase some of the investment opportunities that we have in Nigeria through the UNIDO ITPO. China CAMC’s mission in Nigeria has been organised in such a way that they will meet with relevant Federal Government agencies and state governors where the investments are located.

“Also, we are using this event to show the synergy between our various UNIDO programmes in Nigeria and at the same time support the Nigerian government to proactively promote investment inflows into the country. CAMC’s visit to Nigeria is part of the dividends of President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent visit to China.”
