…to holds 2025 annual Iriji cultural festival August
The people of Mbaise in Imo State have have urged the agencies of the Imo State Government to embark on rehabilitation of roads.
They also enjoined owners of hotel and hospitality establishments across the three local government areas in Mbaise to clean and upgrade their hotels and hospitality facilities for numerous lodgers and customers who will grace their annual Iriji Cultural Festival scheduled for August 15, 2025.
Addressing a press conference at the Ezuruezu Mbaise Civic Centre, in Aboh Mbaise, Steve Onu, chairman of the Central Planning Committee, said that the ceremony would take place at the Town School Itu, in Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area, with Louis Alozie, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) as chairman of the occasion.
He further said that the exhibition of other Mbaise cultural ensembles would complement the status of Iriji Mbaise as a veritable national cultural festival.
Onu also called on the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to have a critical look at the Lagwa Monkey Colony, Ahiara Declaration Centre, Mbari Cultural Centre Nguru and other tourists sites in Mbaise with a view to rehabilitating and providing tourist guides for the Iriji Mbaise visitors, particularly during the cultural festival.
The committee chairman also urged the managers of hotels and hospitality establishments to upgrade and clean up their hotel facilities, eateries, among others in preparation for the event.
The Chairman has also appealed to the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma to graciously approve the rehabilitation of roads in the area for easy access to all nooks and crannies of Mbaise for the cultural festival.
According to him, the fixing of the roads in Mbaise will boost the image of the state government, particularly in the eyes of Nigerians and foreigners who are eager to witness the Iriji Mbaise Cultural Festival, 2025.
