With youth unemployment and underinvestment in personal finance education at an all-time high, it is more important than ever to provide millennials with the tools and information they need to navigate Nigeria’s developing investment landscape.

BusinessDay’s digital department is therefore, in reaction to this interest, organising May’s edition of its Millennial Hangout, themed “Investment Opportunities.” The virtual event is scheduled to hold on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 12:30 PM and will be streamed live on BDTV via YouTube.

“The Millennial Hangout gives young Nigerians direct access to topical, localized, and actionable information on finance, investment, and career development,” stated Linda Ochugbua, Digital Sales Manager at BusinessDay, in reference to the webinar. We want millennials to view investing as a source of empowerment rather than fear.

The session will be moderated by Ethel Adonu, a Social Media Specialist, and will include a panel of professionals who bring both experience and contextual relevance to the conversation.

Confirmed speakers include:

– Fatima Aderibegbe, Head of Sales and Marketing, HH Holdings Group
– Imelda Usoro Olaoye, Managing Partner, Thinkmint Nigeria
– Ronke Adenle, Vice President, Channel Sales, Cordros Securities Ltd
– Oyeyinka Oyekan, Head, HNI and Corporates, Cowrywise

These speakers will delve into how young professionals can identify, evaluate, and leverage investment opportunities within the Nigerian economy and beyond, even with limited starting capital.

Ochugbua added, “We’ve curated this lineup of speakers to ensure the discussions remain grounded in real world knowledge. It’s not just about theory, it’s about strategy and execution within our unique economic environment.”

This event is also in line with BusinessDay’s general mission of enhancing financial literacy and economic participation among Nigeria’s youth. By having access to the right information, tools, and networks, young Nigerians can begin to make smarter financial choices that will shape a brighter and more secure future.
