A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to grant businesswoman Aisha Sulaiman Achimugu administrative bail and release her within 24 hours.

Delivering a brief ruling on Wednesday, Justice Inyang Ekwo directed that the EFCC must comply with the order without delay and instructed all parties involved to return to court on May 2, 2025, to report on compliance.

Achimugu was arrested by EFCC operatives at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja around 5 a.m. on Tuesday, shortly after arriving from London.

Her arrest came nearly five weeks after the anti-graft agency declared her wanted on March 28 for alleged money laundering and criminal conspiracy.
