Nigerian gospel singer and ordained pastor Bolaji Olarewaju, popularly known as Big Bolaji or Big B, has passed away at the age of 50. His family confirmed that he died on Saturday, April 19, 2025, following a brief illness .
Reports indicate that Big Bolaji collapsed while performing at a musical event on the night of April 18. Despite medical attention, he passed away the following day .
Big Bolaji was a prominent figure in the Nigerian gospel music scene, known for his energetic performances and inspirational songs. He began his music ministry with the group J’apha and was also a radio talk show host . In addition to his musical career, he served as an ordained pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and was a qualified surveyor .
He celebrated his 50th birthday in November 2024 at White Stone Events Centre in Ikeja, Lagos .
