Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has reportedly put his Altringham house up for sale amid strong interest from Spanish giant Real Madrid.

United are facing a big battle to keep the Spain international out of Real’s interests this summer but it appears that the Red Devils have lost the bid to keep the former Atletico Madrid man.

The Spaniard is expected to join Los Blancos this summer, four years after moving to Manchester United from Atletico.

According to the London Evening Standard, De Gea’s move to Madrid appears to have gathered pace with the 24-year-old looking to sell his home in Altringham, Manchester.

The six-bedroom detached house located at Altrincham, Cheshire has been listed on property website Rightmove with a valuation of £2,750,000.

The house contains a gym, a games room, a home cinema and three reception rooms.

The 24-year-old is expected to return to Spain this summer, with his contract at Old Trafford entering its final year and United not keen on the idea of losing him on a free next year.

De Gea’s pad reportedly contains a gym, three reception rooms, a games room and a home cinema.

De Gea is expected to return to Spain this summer with Real, having joined United from Madrid rivals Atletico for £17.8million in 2011.

However, De Gea has been at the centre of a tug of war between Louis van Gaal’s side and the Spanish giants but the listing would appear to suggest that his expected move is now very much closer.

De Gea is yet to sign a £200,000-a-week contract at Old Trafford and, with his existing deal due to expire next season, United would not want to lose him on a free transfer.

Red Devils legend Denis Law used to own the house, which De Gea currently occupies.

Born in Madrid, De Gea started his career at age 13 with Atlético Madrid and rose through the academy system at the club before making his senior debut in 2009. After being made Atlético’s first-choice goalkeeper, he helped the team win both the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup in 2010.

His exceptional performances attracted the attention of Manchester United, whom he joined in June 2011 for a whooping fee of £17.8 million, a British record for a goalkeeper.

Since making a move to Old Trafford, he has made over 100 appearances and won one Premier League medal in 2013. He has been tipped as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

De Gea was also the captain for the Spain under-21 national side, which won the European Championship in 2011 and 2013 and also competed in the 2012 Olympics.

De-Gea-2De Gea was crowned United’s player of the year in recognition for a stunning season that saw Louis van Gaal’s side reclaim a place in the Champions League and, despite appreciating Ramos’s ability, Neville is concerned that the Red Devils’ No.1 may be being undervalued.

Tall, athletic and confident with the ball De Gea made his debut for the senior team in 2014 and was selected for Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup, and has been tipped by many football pundits as the likely successor to veteran shot stopper, Iker Casillas, as Spain’s long-term goalkeeper.
