With over eight years of experience spanning Nollywood and major global streaming platforms like Netflix, Prime Video and cinemas, Seyi Oluwatimilehin, Toronto-based Nigerian filmmaker, has been a force both in front of and behind the camera.

Now, he is channeling his expertise into building a company that champions underrepresented voices and fresh narratives.

Mintslate Media, a film production company dedicated to telling authentic and diverse stories.

For Oluwatimilehin, also known as Seyi mint, his Mintslate Media is more than just a company; it is a movement. “I’ve always believed that stories have the power to bridge gaps, foster understanding, and connect people across cultures,” he said.

“Mintslate Media was born from a deep belief that stories have the power to heal, connect, and redefine how we see each other,”

“For too long, certain narratives have been overlooked or misrepresented. I want to change that by creating a platform where diverse voices are heard, and authentic stories take center stage.

This is more than just filmmaking—it’s about shaping an industry that thrives on inclusivity and creativity,” he added.

Mintslate Media is headquartered in Toronto, Canada, and is committed to producing films that are deeply connected to the communities they portray. Seyi emphasizes that while storytelling is the foundation of the company, it is also about creating opportunities for talented filmmakers, actors, and creatives who have long been overlooked.

Seyi’s extensive background in Nollywood, one of the world’s largest film industries, gives him a unique edge in storytelling. He has worked on over 36 projects, including “Naughty by Nature” and “Man on Fire” (both Prime Originals), the short film “Perro de Agua”, and high-profile commercials such as “A Legacy of Love”.

“I’ve spent years learning the business from the ground up, from talent management to production. Mintslate Media is the culmination of all those experiences, and I’m excited for what’s to come,” he added.

As the company begins production on its first slate of projects, Seyi remains focused on the long-term impact.

He envisions Mintslate Media as a movement rather than just a business, a platform where people see themselves reflected in stories that are raw, real, and relevant. In a world where stories have the power to bridge divides and foster unity, he believes that every film produced by Mintslate Media will contribute to a larger mission: reshaping how narratives are told and whose voices get heard.

Additionally, the company will be launching with an initiative titled PROJECT 25 HUNDRED. This project is designed to give individuals with unique and untold stories their first shot in the film industry. For just $2,500, participants will have the opportunity to bring their stories to life with professional support and resources. The goal is to nurture new talent, amplify authentic voices, and create powerful, relevant narratives that speak to a global audience.
