A symposium has been organised by Netsach Limited in conjunction with IBES AG Germany to enlighten and sensitise the oil and gas downstream sector on the solutions available to the various problems operators in this sector encounter in the course of transporting their petroleum products from one location to another.

These problems, such as pilferage and theft, adulteration of products, diversion of tankers, reckless driving and so on, result to heavy losses of money, time and other resources. Basically, the net worth of any business is in part based upon inventory and protection of company assets, for inventory purposes, loss of products in transit via various unwelcome means obviously have negative economic implications over time.

Hence, adoption of reliable monitoring and reporting solution for petroleum products in transit is essential for success in the downstream sector of the oil and gas industry.

This solution is the first of its kind in the country; a robust system that does not only monitor petroleum products in each compartment of tanker in terms of changes in volume and adulterations in real time but also gives location reports of trucks and so on. In essence, it affords the owner direct access to his assets anytime anywhere. This system can be likened to a black box in the aviation industry, giving owner real-time information about his asset and also the opportunity for historical data over a long period of time.

Speaking at this event are: Reinhardt Nindel, a professor, a well experienced IT professional, partner and senior consultant at IBES AG, Germany, and Godson Samuels, a mechanical engineer with many years of experience in the oil and gas sector and a technical director at Netsach Limited.
