Head of corporate communications/special adviser to the managing director of Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals, Port Harcourt, Sir Jossy Nkwocha, was formally conferred with the Doctorate (PhD) Degree of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) at the 44th convocation of the University on Saturday, January 24, 2015.
The university had announced in February 2014 that Jossy Nkwocha and Benedict Odigbo had emerged the first PhD holders in Marketing (Public Relations) of the university.
Dr. Nkwocha’s doctoral dissertation was titled ‘A Comparative Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Corporate Reputation Management Strategies Employed in Selected Oil & Gas Companies in Nigeria’.
Nkwocha is also a distinguished Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), and has contributed immensely to the growth of the public relations practice and education in Nigeria.
His book titled ‘Effective Media Relations: Issues, Strategies & Dynamics (1999)’ is a recommended textbook in many Nigerian universities.
