LS Scientific introduces advanced filtration technology to Nigerian powdery products market

A Nigerian firm, LS Scientific, in conjunction with German-based Haver and Boecker is introducing into the Nigerian powdery products market advanced filtration and particle size analysis technology, which will benefit producers of detergents, cocoa beverages, sugar, salt, powdered milk, cement, fine sand, cosmetic powder.

Producers of powdery products engage in filtration and particle sizing in their daily operations.

The company says the new technology will enhance filtration and particle size analysis and deliver the highest attainable and requisite precision, which is key in the production of granulated and powder products.

Filtration basically involves the use of shakers and sieves to make for uniformity in size of particles, which often enhances quality of these products. For example, cement has to be extremely fine to be able to provide optimum adhesive strength when mixed with water to create durable mortar. In the same vein, milk and cocoa beverages need to be produced to certain fineness to be able to melt evenly when mixed with water.

So when these products are of uneven particle sizes there tends to be inconsistency which comes in the form of lumps in the case of milk and beverages, hence customers translate this into low quality.

Haver and Boecker, LS Scientific partners are masters in filtration and particle size analysis technology, bulk loading, and bagging.

“With 2015 just around the corner, great efforts are being made to increase stock level so as to benefit the West African market with good pricing and increased support services with this growing relationship,” a statement from the company said.

Some key players in the cement, sugar and food & beverage industries already benefiting from the LS Scientific/Haver and Boecker partnership are excited about the prospects of getting spares readily in the market. Though there is customer support at the moment, it will be taken to the next level in the coming year, the statement noted.
