Ofuani applauds peaceful delegates congress

Chief Clement Ofuani, a frontline gubernatorial aspirant in Delta State has commended the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) faithfuls, stakeholders and the constituents of the State party structure on the peaceful and successful conduct of the Ward Ad-hoc delegates congress across the State at the weekend.

Chief Ofuani, the pioneer Commissioner for Economic Planning in Delta State and one of the 22 aspirants who have officially indicated their interest for the number one job in the State by obtaining the party’s form for the gubernatorial race, stated that the spirit of cohesion and unity demonstrated under a peaceful atmosphere confirms the PDP as a formidable political family in Delta State.

According to Chief Ofuani the successful ward delegate congress coming at the heels of the Local Council election in the State in which the party swept the polls across the State confirms the PDP as the party to beat come 2015.

Ahead of the November 29 state congress and gubernatorial primaries in Delta state, Ofuani also called on the elected delegates to put the interest of the party and the future of the state far above personal and sectional considerations, as Delta is a state that stands on a tripod, with each district as important as the other, and no district having the ability to succeed alone.

He noted that the common desires of the people of Delta state, are to see leaders that are accountable and transparent, and who are not their masters but true servants, adding that his desire to present himself as candidate for the number one job in Delta state was not driven by an ambition for power for its sake, but by a commitment to serve.

He asserted that his demonstrated leadership capability, interpersonal relationship, strength of character and integrity as well as political career has prepared him for the daunting challenges of providing effective leadership for Deltans, and called on Deltans to give him their undiluted support for a better Delta.
