Nigerian golfers are in for another weekend of excitement as the Eastern Qualifiers of the MTN World Golfers Championship tees off this Saturday, August 16th, 2014 at the Port Harcourt Golf Club, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Just a few weeks after the Western Qualifiers which held in Lagos, gentlemen and ladies of the game of masters are warming up for another scintillating golfing experience at the Garden City.

At the Western qualifiers which held at Lakowe Lakes Golf and Country Club, Lekki, Lagos, last month, golfers were treated to an enormously great time, playing the game they loved, networking and wrapping up new business deals.

The General Manager, Consumer Marketing, MTN Nigeria, Mr Kola Oyeyemi, while speaking recently about the involvement of MTN with Golf sponsorship, restated the company’s resolve to always enrich the lives of its customers by constantly identifying with their passion points and delighting them at all times.

According to him, “MTN is the only consistent corporate sponsor of golf tournaments in Nigeria because the brand is always ready to identify with the passion point of its esteemed customers. The fact that MTN is ready and willing to invest hugely in the game of golf explains the importance of the relationship between us and our valued customers. This also reinforces our brand essence of enriching lives and making our high value stakeholders become better at what they do,” Oyeyemi said.

After the Port Harcourt qualifiers, golfers would converge on Abuja on August 23rd 2014 for the Northern Regional qualifiers. The MTN World Golfers Championship national final is billed for the Ibom Golf Course, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State in September after the regional qualifiers. Each regional qualifier would see golfers qualify for the national finals; while winners in the national finals would represent Nigeria at the World Golfers Championship slated for Durban, South Africa, later in the year.
