Phillips Consulting has commended Dana Air and Ibom Air on its game-changing collaborative service that birthed the launch of the first-ever domestic airline codeshare agreement.

The partnership, referred to as the Dana-Ibom Air Alliance, was signed at the corporate headquarters of Ibom Air, at the Victor Attah International Airport Uyo, on Friday, May 21, 2021. This business agreement is a significant milestone for the aviation industry and will enable growth in the sector.

With this unique partnership, both airlines jointly offer flights to common destinations while operating services to destinations, not within each airline’s regular routes. By doing so, both airlines expand their market presence and competitive footprint in the interest of the flying public.

Speaking about the initiative, Joshua Ademuwagun, head of advisory/senior managing consultant, People Transformation, pcl, stated, “This is a laudable achievement not only for Ibom Air and Dana Air but for the Nigerian Aviation Industry.

“Again, Ibom Air has redefined the status quo and taken a crucial step with Dana Air to carve its name in the annals of Nigerian history by being the first two airlines to initiate this kind of arrangement in the country. In alignment with what Rob Taiwo (MD, pcl.) would always say, we are glad to be part of the growth journey of a forward-thinking brand like Ibom Air.”

Olawanle Moronkeji, associate partner, People Transformation at pcl, also excited about the milestone, shared his thoughts. In his words, “This is a scaling up in the redefinition of the aviation sector in Nigeria. Both Ibom Air and Dana Air have shown passion and commitment to excellence.”

Leveraging pcl.’s agile people-focused delivery approach, Ibom Air has developed a fit-for-purpose and executable roadmap that involves people, culture, process (customer service and finance), systems and technology.

As a direct result of the project outcomes, Ibom Air is further enabled to deliver on its promise of Schedule Reliability, On-time Departures and Service Excellence.

The codeshare agreement is a laudable one and has reinforced pcl.’s agile approach to problem-solving and commitment to transforming possibilities.

The codeshare alliance will commence full service in June 2021.
