It was fun and excitement as bakers unleashed the latest innovative products and equipment that will define the future of the baking and pastry industry, as the 2014 Europain & Intersuc exhibition recently came to an end in France.

With the theme: Innovation, the exhibition, which had about 804 exhibitors, 76,950 professionals, 30 percent of whom were international visitors from 138 countries in attendance, also availed professionals and visitors the opportunity to obtain first-hand information on these modern products and equipment.

With over 2,480 demonstrations over its five days, there was evidently a good measure of know-how and creativity of product and equipment manufacturers as well as service providers in the baking, pastry-, chocolate- and confectionery-making industry on display for all to witness.

The present 29 countries produced about 130,281 pieces of bread, 35,086 Viennese pastries, 89,694 cakes, 23,650 salted snacks, and at the end nearly 6 tons of bread, cakes and other food products were offered by the exhibitors to the Red Cross.

The exhibition also provided a stage for the Bakery Masters, the International Confectionery Art Competition, the French Schools Cup, the selection rounds for French Coffee Championships, and the selection round for the Bocuse d’Or France, which brought the event to a close in a grand style.
