Americans in Nigeria told they have to pay for seats on special evacuation flight

US citizens in Nigeria who elect to fly back home on a special flight evacuation flight being arranged by the embassy have been told they will pay for their seats.

“Please note that all individuals who choose to return to the U.S. on a flight organized by the U.S. Department of State will be required to sign a promissory note to pay for the full cost of the seat(s) on the flight. ”

The embassy has earlier urged citizens of the US to find their way to Lagos and Abuja to board the flight.
