The Executive governor of Taraba state Darius Dickson Ishaku has lambasted the Presidency for conceiving the Idea to establish RUGA settlements in the country.

He said it was a form of the Fulani’s colonizing Nigeria in disguise.

This is coming less than 24 hours after the governor accused the Nigeria democracy of being embarrassing, insulting and nonsense.

The governor made this known in government house in Jalingo, Taraba state capital, while interacting with journalists.

Ishaku who explained that the the best form of rearing cattles in the whole world was ranching also said the RUGA settlement scheme is not workable in Taraba state.

He further explained that the anti open grazing Law was already in Place, adding that that government was making a lot of progress on ranching.

Ishaku faults the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for refusing to grant the Taraba state government loan to establish ranches in the state.

“The whole RUGA scheme should be cancelled, you can’t do a RUGA in the whole country we do not accept it, is not workable and it will not work in Taraba state”.

“Already I have in place the anti open grazing Law. It is a law in Taraba state that you are not allowed to graze openly and we are making a lot of progress on ranching. I even submitted a request for us to be given loan on ranching but the Central bank has refused to approve it for what ever reason. Other wise I would have showcase what it means to be doing ranching in Taraba state”

“Ranching is the best form of practice in this modern days if indeed you’re talking about cattle, grazing and grass. I don’t think they are taking about cattle, grass or grazing. They are talking about something else and that’s Fulan colonization”, he stated.
