Buhari reappoints Idris as AGF

President Muhammmadu Buhari has renewed the appointment of the Accountant General of the Federation, AGF, making it his first appointment since he took his oath of office for the second term on May 29th, 2019.

Idris who was first appointed as the Accountant General of the Federation on the 25th of June 25, 2015 had succeed Jonah Otunla who was sacked by Muhammadu Buhari for allegedly misappropriating the sum of N2.5 billion of security agencies’ funds.

A statement released on Wednesday by the Director of Communications, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHoSCF), Wunmi Ogunmosunle, said “The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Ahmed Idris for the second and final term of four years as Accountant General of the Federation, AGF, in accordance with Section 171 of the 199 Constitution of Nigeria (as amended),” she said.

The letter of reappointment was signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha, BusinessDay gathered from the Presidency.
