PAL Pension trains over 1500 UNN students on Financial Literacy

No fewer than 1500 students from University of Nigeria Nsukka participated at the Financial Literacy Training organised by PAL Pension NEXTU at the University Nsukka, recently.

Speaking at the event, the managing director, PAL Pensions, Morohunke Bammeke, who was represented by the head management and corporate communications, PAL Pension, Sunmisola Mark-Okoma, said NextU was corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of PAL Pensions focused on providing knowledge and guidance for unleashing the potential of young people on career, finances, entrepreneurship, new media, entertainment and life choices.

She said PAL Pensions had added University of Nigeria Nsukka to its youth focused platform ‘NextU’ in line with its positioning of creating value for Nigerians. Other Universities include University of Lagos, University of Benin, University of Port Harcourt, Obafemi Awolowon University and Ahmadu Bello University.

The managing director emphasised that the vision of PAL pensions was to be the best PFA by creating value, “PAL pensions is that company that will always add value to you.”

According to the managing director, PAL Pensions is interested in ways to impact the Society positively, saying it was why it started the NextU project, ” A project that aims at guiding young people through career choice and financial literacy. Basically, we are telling them that PAL pensions would provide them with the support they need to become whom they want to become”.

She encouraged the students to commit to lifelong learning to create sustainable success and charged them to go out and unleash their potential.

The resource persons who came from various back grounds representing financial literacy, investment, employability, career growth, entrepreneurship, Art/creativity, new media.

All the resources persons shared the experiences and told the students that their career does not start after school but while in school so that before graduating they must have gained experience and more skilful in their chosen career.

The students were also thrilled by a popular musician, Ice Prince Zamani, who was one of the resources persons.

Other resource persons include Gossy Uwanwoke, founder, Beni American University; Tunji Andrews, Lead Economist at Time, Trade And Commodities (TTAC); Sunmisola Mark-Okoma, Head, Brand Management & Corporate Communications, PAL Pensions; Ice Prince Zamani, artiste and Olushola Amusan, Philanthropist lead, Microsoft at the PAL pension NEXTU event that held at the University of Nsukka.
