ECCIMA commends Dangote’s contributions to Nigeria’s economy

Meet Nigeria’s capital market billionaires
Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA) has commended the efforts of Dangote Industries Limited on its unmatched contributions to the growth and development of the Nigerian economy.
ECCIMA president, Emeka Udeze, speaking at the Dangote Group special day at the ongoing 30th Enugu International Trade Fair, said the Group had added a lot of value to the growth of the Nigerian economy, operating in every sector and still expanding and going strong.
Udeze said, “Today, Dangote business and entrepreneurship indulgence has spread to many parts of the African continent, employing thousands of people across the world, of which not less than 85 per cent are Nigerians.”
According to Udeze, “The exploits of the Dangote Group show high degree of vision, creative thinking, research, innovation, doggedness, hard work and industry, which has culminated into what one can describe as the Dangote business and industrial empire today.”
He said with the soon coming on stream of the Dangote Refinery, the nation’s days of scarcity of refined petroleum products would be over, even as it would add value to the economy.
In his speech, Johnson Olaniyi, regional sales director (Technical), Dangote Cement, described Aliko Dangote as a man who had made Nigerians proud within the global scene, saying Dangote was the most recognised name from Nigeria, who had changed the country’s fortunes from cement importation to export through self-sufficiency.

He stated that worried over the spate of collapsed buildings, Dangote Cement introduced the 3X range of products, which are designed for extra strength and yield. He disclosed that Dangote Cement parades four grades of products which include the BlocMaster, D3X rapid setting, 3X normal setting, and the Falcon.
A major debut at the Special day was Dangote Fertiliser, which during a presentation Dennis Ativie, Deputy Sales & Marketing Manager disclosed that Dangote has discovered that while Nigeria’s population is growing, there is no corresponding increase in food production; hence it decided to intervene by building a fertiliser plant.
The fertiliser plant is to plug the gap between the growth in population and that of food production. He said continuous cultivation has made most arable land to record diminishing returns; hence the importance of the application of fertiliser to boost yields.
He announced that good news was coming to the farmers as the fertiliser plant is gearing to produce and roll out its products. Dangote Fertiliser, he explained, would provide farming extension services to educate and guide farmers on application of the different grades of fertiliser for maximum yield.
Other subsidiaries of Dangote Group that made presentations at the event include Dangote Flour Mills, Dangote Sugar Refinery and NASCON Allied Industries.
Companies under Dangote Group are already adding colour to the Enugu International Trade Fair with an array of edible goods on display.
The Group’s participation is part of strategies to grow market share and expand customer reach more customers in the Southern part of the nation. The Group’s well-branded pavilion has become the toast of visitors and shoppers at the Fair.
Companies in the group offering consumer goods at the fair are Dangote Sugar Refinery, NASCON Allied Industries Plc (Dangote Salt), and Dangote Flour Mills.
Other companies from the stable which established a help desk at the Group stand to handle inquiries include Dangote Cement and Dangote Fertiliser.
Some products on display at the fair include sugar, baking flour, wheat & semolina meals, pasta, salt, and seasoning. Dangote Sugar is offering customers different sizes of granulated sugar packs at the fair while NASCON Allied Industries has on display several flavours of the Dan Q seasoning range and stew/soup mix.
Enugu Trade Fair has become a veritable venue for introduction of new innovations to Dangote products and visitors to the group’s pavilion have the opportunity of buying these products at reduced prices.
Dangote Flour is offering customers a range of products at discounted prices. Buyers are going with several gifts as reward for purchasing Dangote Flour products. For those who are not ready to purchase whole cartons of the products, there are special packs containing different products.
Dangote Group is of the view that the trade fair is coming at an appropriate time, as Easter is approaching while schools are going on vacation. NASCON is offering its repackaged salt packs to customers at the trade fair. The new salt pack, which is to endear the product to teeming customers, still comes in packs of 250g, 500g and 1kg. It is redesigned to make the product more accessible and affordable for consumers and other end users.
NASCON said the company would be giving its customers a good treat at the fair, saying it has added to the family of its products and embarked on an expansion of its distribution network to make the product more readily accessible to consumers. The company recently unveiled Classic Seasoning cubes and stew mix, which were created with a special blend of herbs and spices to give meals that unique taste and great aroma.
Aside this, the statement said customers wanting to be distributor of any of the Dangote group subsidiaries would have the opportunity to be offered informed explanations by staff of the companies who would be on hand to put the customers through on how to go about it.
