Delta transport line back in business, expected to create more jobs

Delta transport line back in business, expected to create more jobs
The new Delta Line transport company managed by Good is Good Motors Limited (GIGM), is now set to commence full scale operations to some major cities in Nigeria.
Some Mercedes Benz buses which were commissioned on Tuesday, according to Secretary to Delta State Government, Festus Ovie Agas, would be assigned to various road network and within Asaba, as the home state of Delta Line.
He said the bright and beautiful coloured busses, will surely add some level of prestige to the soaring good governance initiatives of the Okowa administration.
The SSG said, “the new Delta Line, is expected to yield profit and better revenue for its owners; Delta State Government and Good is Good Motors Ltd.”
Agas said the commissioning of the buses is a new dawn for the state transport company, noting that Gov. ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, is a promise keeper as he had ensured that the MoU signed with GIGM in connection with the procurement of new buses as well as efficient management of the company was adhered to without compromise.
“This giant stride is certainly one of the best socioeconomic achievements of Okowa administration and as profit begin to tickle into government coffers and that of GIGM.
“Delta Line shall expand to create additional jobs and help to spread genuine and lasting prosperity to the people in line with the Stronger Delta vision expected to grow beyond Gov Okowa’s government,” Agas said.
It will be recalled that Delta Line became a drain pipe for several years, wasting government funds in servicing and repairs of vehicles without a corresponding financial return expected of a commercial transport company.
Governor Okowa not happy with the poor management of Delta Line, ordered the restructuring and revamping of the company by going into joint venture ownership arrangement with a reputable motor transport company, GIGM.
