The senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District, Stella Oduah, on Monday, staged a protest at the venue of the PDP primaries in Akwa, Anambra State, over what she described as unwillingness of the party to listen to the yearnings of aspirants.

In an interview with newsmen, Anayo Ekeanya, Special Adviser (Media) to Oduah disclosed that the former Aviation Minister was among the four aspirants who staged a protest in Awka over imposition of candidate at the exercise.

Ekeanya listed other aspirants who protested to include: a member of the House of Representatives Lynda Ikpeazu; Chairman Capital Oil, Ifeanyi Uba as well as former Minister of State for Transportation, Prince John Emeka.

According to him, the senator had threatened to abstain from the race if the party failed to consider the demands of aspirants over the delegates’ congress which was marred with irregularities.

Confirming  the development in a telephone interview on Monday, Oduah pointed out that the aspirants would not allow the party to begin another era of imposition and godfatherism in the state.

She maintained that she would protest to the end or abstain from the primaries if the party does not revisit the delegates’ congress.

The lawmaker alleged that the returning officer of the ward congresses personally filled the result sheets that was submitted in Abuja and discarded the ones used in Akwa.

Recall that last week, Oduah had threatened to withdraw from Monday’s PDP governorship primary, on grounds that last week’s ward congresses was fraught with “irregularities and sabotage’’.
