The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is currently holding its 74th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

The meeting was preceded by the Expanded National Caucus and Board of Trustees (BoT) meetings.

This is the first of such meetings that the party is holding in the last 14 months of protracted national leadership tussle that threatened the foundation of the party.

NEC, which is the second highest decision-making organ of the party after the National Convention, is expected to ratify major decisions taken by the Expanded Caucus and BoT.

Those in attendance include National Chairman, Ahmed Malaria, former national chairmen of the party, PDP governors, serving and current National Assembly members among others.

The former National Chairman of the party, Ali Modu-Sheriff who was sacked by the Supreme Court last week, was conspicuously absent.
