Nestle Nigeria Plc led the basket of fifty (50) stocks that recorded share price incline on Wednesday at the Nigeria stock exchange (NSE).
The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) All Share Index (ASI) increased by 2.95% or 790.47 points while the Year-to-Date (YtD) return stood at 2.50% only fifty (50) stocks gained against 9 losers.
Nestle Nigeria Plc gained N38, from N760 to N798; Total Nigeria Plc followed after N6 gain, from N249 to N255; Dangote Cement Plc gained N4.01 kobo, from N162 to N166.01; Nigerian Breweries Plc rose from N132 to N136.01, adding N4.01 kobo; while 7-UP Bottling Company Plc gained N3, from N102 to N105.
The All Share Index closed on Wednesday at 27,546.68 points against the preceding day’s close of 26,756.21 points while Market Capitalization closed at N9.522 trillion as against Tuesday’s N9.132 trillion, gaining 4.27%.
Lafarge Africa Plc declined most by N2.42 from N48.5 to N46.08 kobo. Newrest Asl Nigeria Plc followed after losing 24 kobo, from N4.97 to N4.73. Cement Company of Northern Nigeria Plc declined by 7 kobo, from N4.73 to N4.66; Jaiz Bank Plc dipped from N1.05 to N1, down by 5kobo; while NPF Microfinance Bank Plc lost 5 kobo, from N1.38 to N1.33.
The volume of stocks traded increased by 8.32%, from 539.232 million to 584.119 million while the total value of stocks traded increased to N5.651 billion in 5,121 deals.
The financial services sector led yesterday activity chart as United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc exchanged 104.12 million shares for N669.85 million, followed by Diamond Bank Plc with 53.93 million shares traded for N48.77 million.
Zenith International Bank Plc bartered 50.01 million shares worth N841.22 million. Flour Mills Nigeria Plc exchanged 46.68 million valued at N842.51 million while Access Bank exchanged 45.81 million for N341.12 million.
