Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) says its customer sensitisation programme is to reduce the potential dangers of wrong approach to electricity use, which causes electrical accidents.
Ernest Mupwaya, managing director of AEDC, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Thursday.
“What we want to achieve is that we want to have zero accidents. We want to galvanise our customers and members of the public at large to work with us.
“We need to highlight the potential dangers associated with the electricity, so that they can use electricity in a safe manner free of accidents,’’ Mupwaya said.
He said available statistics revealed that positive results were achieved in the past two years in reducing electrical accidents, saying the series of campaign would sensitise customers against theft of electricity and unauthorised access to facilities, as the public would also be educated on necessary steps to take in the event of high voltage.
