The Senate on Thursday confirmed the nomination of 45 out of 47 non-career ambassadorial nominees, submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari.
This followed the adoption of the report of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Those rejected are 82-year-old Justice Sylvanus Nsofor (Imo State)  and Jacob Daodu (Ondo State).
Presenting the report, chairman of the panel Monsurat Sunmonu, explained that the octogenarian was rejected because he was not only frail but declined to recite the National Anthem when asked by the committee during his screening to do so.
She also pointed out that the Ondo State nominee was rejected because security report from the Department of State Services (DSS) described him as deceitful and corrupt.
