Olam Nigeria on Tuesday, won the National Productivity Order of Merit award (NPOM) for the year 2016.
The event took place at the conference hall of the Nicon Luxury hotel Abuja and was chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. Shaibu Mohammed, national sales manager rice, representing Olam, received the award on behalf of the company. The award, which was in recognition of Olam’s tenacity, ingenuity and impact in bridging the gap in Nigeria’ rice production in the year 2016, originates from the stable of the National Productivity Centre.
The event is held annually as National Productivity Day to celebrate lofty achievements and innovations of individuals and organisations in the public and private sector.
Also present at the event was Chris Ngige, minister of employment, labour and productivity, among other notable dignitaries.
