Some 1.8 million people in and around the Syrian city of Aleppo has been cut off from main water supply since mid-January, UN Spokeswoman, Yara Sharif, has said.
The water used to come from the village of Khafsa, which is controlled by Islamic State extremists, the spokeswoman said.
She added that humanitarian deliveries across Syria effectively broke down in January as only one out of 21 planned aid convoys was allowed through.
