In its short stay in the cosmopolitan city of Lagos, Uber has redefined commuters’ experiences in the transport sector around by disrupting how riders move from one point to another, with its easy, comfortable and affordable services that makes it an attractive proposition for all.
The rise of Uber will not be slowing down anytime soon as long as it is able to maintain its level of standard and surpassed it.
Esther Oluwatoni, a graduate from a UK university, had little faith in the Nigerian transport industry. However, her opinion changes after she had a one-on-one experience on a ride with Uber.
According to Esther, the Uber driver was hospitable in his approach to the business. “He was so nice to me and genuinely showed care. I was surprised and impressed at the same time. It’s really amazing how the system works and quite frankly, I am surprised at how well it is working out in Lagos and Nigeria” she said
Damilola Samson, a corporate communication associate with one of Nigeria’s top banks also narrates his experience on Uber.
He says his job sometimes keeps him away from home late into the evening, especially on weekends.
According to Damilola, “You know how Lagos can be sometimes, especially late in the evening, to stay safe I take Uber, which to me appears to be much safer, relatively cheaper, and faster” he said.
