Yakubu Dogara, Speaker of the House of Representatives has named Abdulrasak Namdas, as the chairman of the Adhoc Committee that will probe the $17 billion allegedly stolen from undeclared crude oil and liquefied natural gas exports to global destinations.
The illicit transaction, according to the Speaker involved 20 companies, two agencies of government, two law firms, and the consultants (technical partners) appointed by the past governments.
Dogara also constituted four other Adhoc Committees saddled with the responsibility of investigating various allegations of corruptions in different ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs).
The committees, which will be inaugurated soon were mandated to carry out the exercise before the House proceeds on Christmas and New Year break later in December.
Members of the committee include: Isiaka Ibrahim, Ahmed Bichi, Loveth Idisi, Nicholas Srakin Noma, Iduma Igariwey Enwo, Talatu Yohanna, Oluwole Oke, and Joseph Edionwele. Others are Rabiu Garba Kaugawa, Austin Chukwu Ekere, Supolochukwu Ezeonwuka, Soyinka Olatunji, Johnson Agbonayinma and Abiodun Olasupo.
The Ad-hoc committee to investigate activities of federal owned development finance institution is headed by Chukwuemeka Anohu.
Kazeem Mukaila was appointed as the Ad-hoc committee on the investigation of inability of the automobile industry to access to foreign exchange from Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
On his part, Abdullahi Gaiya was mandated to preside over investigative hearing into the huge debts and criminal act of sabotage by oil marketers in connivance with the management of PPMC.
Likewise, Edward Pwajok, was mandated to chair the Ad-hoc committee on the investigation of the directive of the Director General of the Budget Office of the Federation to the managing director of FERMA.
