Aramex, a leading global provider of comprehensive logistics and transportation solutions has relaunched into Nigerian market to reshape the logistics and transportation industry with a focus on multi-billion dollar e-commerce sector.
Though Aramex encountered challenges with its previous entry into the Nigerian market a few years ago, the firm is focusing on the future and its ability to enable economic growth and boost commerce through technology and innovative business solutions.
The company which is located in hundreds of countries across the world is a global logistics provider and e-commerce solution, with specialization in technology and software that link many other leading companies together.
“Today, e-commerce is heavily growing globally. It is a multibillion dollar industry and we really want to focus on that market. In e-commerce you can see a lot of online firms like Amazon globally, Jumia, konga, that are growing immensely, scaling the business and we have been the pioneer in providing solutions for these companies”, Faisal Jarmakani, managing director of Aramex Nigeria said in an interview with BusinessDay.
He stressed that that Aramex will scale up the latest innovations being piloted in other operating environments in the Nigerian market, as it remains a priority to provide the best service to clients.
“Nigeria is a technologically advanced market with a growing economy and strong business environment. We are pleased to be operating within this space, collaborating and supporting the growing e-commerce and FinTech industries, with the support of NIPOST and other players. We will continue to leverage technology and innovative solutions to accelerate the growth of our business and enhance customer satisfaction”, Jarmakani said in Lagos.
Hussein Hachem, chief executive officer of Aramex said in statement that Aramex has a long-term business strategy for Nigeria, just as it seeks to tap into the opportunities in the country’s youth population.
“What we want to do is to ensure that a greater population of Nigeria are able to access e-Commerce platforms and be able to buy anything they want through the Internet. We believe Nigeria is the hub for the region and we would like to connect more Nigerians to their neighbors in the region as well as to the global community”, Hachem said.
