The Management of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) on Thursday apologised to customers in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos over a power outage in the area since the past four days.
The General Manager, Corporate Communications of the company, Godwin Idemudia, made the apology while speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos.
Idemudia explained that there was a major fault in one of the company’s facilities supplying electricity to some communities in the area.
He said that engineers from the EKEDC were already working round-the-clock to fix the equipment.
The spokesman assured that repair of equipment would be completed and power restored to the communities on Nov. 11.
“We are aware of the outage in some communities due to the fault in one of our equipment in the area.
“We have dispatched our engineers to the place since the beginning of the week.
“I want to assure you that electricity supply will be restored to the affected areas by Friday.
“The management of EKEDC wishes to apologise to our consumers in the area over the outage.”
Idemudia told consumers in the area not to take advantage of the outage to vandalise power facilities their communities.
