Dialogue efforts of the Federal Government have begun to yield results as oil production reaches 2.1million barrel, according to the minister of state for petroleum Ibe Kachikwu.
Meanwhile, Niger Delta leaders present sixteen point request to President Muhammadu Buhari requesting for the relocation of the headquarters of International Oil Companies (IOCs) to the region amongst other things.
This they said will fast-track the development of the region as the companies will be forced to develop where they occupy.
The Niger Delta leaders led by elder states man Edwin Clark also asked for the clean up or other communities affected by spill in the region besides the Ogoniland. They also asked for a review of the amnesty Programme and well as allocation of oil blocks to indigenes of the region.
