Career Insights Nigeria in its continued drive to leverage on technological evolution to drive employment opportunities for young Nigerian seeking professional enhancement has held its first induction sessions in Lagos.
The session which held at the Oriental hotel Lagos featured strategic training for hundreds of Nigerian youths on careers and job creating opportunities in digital project management or business analysis.
Keji Giwa, CEO, Digital Bananas Technologies, the parent body of Career Insight Nigeria while speaking at the induction session in Lagos, said Career Insights have moved from a training company to activate a platform that is allowing Nigerian youths to collaborate learn, develop themselves, get practical work experience; build amazing opportunities in relation to business and to also change their careers as well.
Giwa disclosed that considering that 77 percent of Nigerians are connected to the internet via mobile devices present a huge markets saying that it creates business opportunities and job opportunities.
According to him, “We still need business management, project management that is why we are introducing digital project management roles, business analysis roles and we are providing, qualification and some kind of accreditation from the market to get our guys qualified”.
He further said Career insights Nigeria is positioned to provide practical work experience for people interested in becoming digital project managers and giving experience within the digital space, it equally provide digital solutions to companies that need digital solutions.
Funto Akinbiseyin, former vice president of products management at Konga who now works at Career Insights while speaking on her role in the company said she will ensure that the company creates more opportunities for younger ones to tap into.
“A lot of youths and undergraduates are not mentored. They need to see that people can be successful in this project management field. People can actually make it from nothing and I would ensure that they can see the impact that this induction will have on their overall career path” she said.
On her part, Tosin Odunsi, a Human resources person with years of experience in companies likes Shell, Accenture and British Airways maintain that she is bringing to the fore a new approach to human resources management.
“I could bring more to add to the human resource management practice in Nigeria. The way it is done right now in Nigeria is done by books, without emotion, but I think you need to look at thing from different perspective” she added.
