Ntel- Nigeria’s most advanced 4G/LTE network, has announced the commencement of its phased and paced commercial operations which will deliver a game changing customer experience with high internet speed access of up to 230Mbps.

At a press briefing last week, the company said commercial services are now available on its 4G/LTE- Advanced network across Lagos and Abuja, with Port Harcourt to follow.

“In the next four to six weeks, ntel would have covered the whole of Lagos. Coverage in Port Harcourt will follow during May,” Kamal Abass, CEO of ntel, said.

Abass added that those who reserved their ntel SIMs previously would be part of a pioneer group with bumper offers. However, he says the pioneer group may not be solely exclusive to those who reserved their SIMs, but may include a set of people who could get ntel SIMs immediately.

“The first 100,000 to redeem and activate their ntel SIMs will get free on-net calls for life, while data subscribers will get three months unlimited data usage,” Abass emphasized.

“The earliest customers will be able to buy and use ntel services in clusters across Lagos and Abuja from sales outlets and agents featuring our bright brand name: ntel,” a statement published on the company’s website reads. E-commerce sites are also viable sources.

Coverage is anticipated to expand to other states across multiple geo-political zones, during the second half of 2016.

In unveiling the unique peculiarities of ntel’s innovation, Abass said in a bid to be “eco-system friendly”, ntel advocates the use of elctronic airtime top-ups, rather than recharge cards which most have identified as a contributor to an untidy environment.

“We want to discourage recharge cards for the sake of our eco-system by encouraging top-ups at our service outlets and in financial institutions we are working with. However, for those who require recharge cards, it can also be gotten at our service outlets,” he asserted.

ntel also reaveled that it was in a partnership with Heritage and Skye banks, in order to guarantee customer satisfaction and ease.

Addressing the ease of mobile number portability (MNP), the CEO said, “We are required by law to provide mobile number portability. However, in the short run we will tend to discourage portability. Give us at least four to six weeks; then we can start talking about that.”

In conclusion, Abass, a strong advocate of 4G/LTE, said “we are passionate at ntel about the power of broadband to boost productivity and, thereby, transform lives. We expect to see this happen as ntel helps to accelerate the ongoing migration from existing 2G and 3G services to genuinely high-speed mobile broadband on 4G/LTE.”

ntel, Nigeria’s 5th mobile network operator, announced that the commencement of operations is the culmination of their journey from acquiring the old NiTel/MTel assets to the delivery of successive milestones underlining their growing operating capability on their new fixed and mobile infrastructure.
