Olubunmi Lawson, the Managing Director of ACCION Microfinance Bank Ltd, says the bank will soon extend its operations to eight states across the country.

Lawson said the targeted states included Osun, Ekiti, Kogi Benue, Jos, Enugu and two others.

She said the extension was the bank’s renewed efforts towards poverty alleviation in the federation.

Lawson also said that the bank planned to extend operations to all the 36 states in the federation in future.

She said like ACCION MFB expansion drive in Lagos, the bank has already kicked off operations in Rivers State.

She said the bank recently launched a new product “PayGo’’ to enable customers determine the amount of interest to pay on loans.

According to her, the bank has also extended loans and services to Nigerians living with disabilities under a product named PLWD (Persons Living with Disabilities).

She said the bank had disbursed about N57 billion in loans to 54, 754 clients since inception.

She also said the number of customers who joined the bank in 2015 increased from 86,655 in 2014 to 133, 937.

Lawson said that the bank was strategising on its loan disbursement to support small and medium enterprises.

ACCION launched its operations in May 2007, but obtained a licence to operate nationally from Central Bank of Nigeria in 2015
