Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State wants to leverage the victory of a Rivers daughter, Pamela Peter-Vigboro, to re-launch the state as a hub of culture and arts.
The governor gave the indication last week when the winner presented her victory to the new governor, who too was celebrating his Supreme Court endorsement as true winner of the controversial governorship election in 2015.
Wike wants Peter-Vigboro to get set to serve as a worthy ambassador of the state in the international arena, just like Agbani Daraego did some years ago as Miss World.
Wike also urged her to live as role model to youths in the promotion of peace, adding that the state government would support her in carrying out her duties as a beauty queen.
The governor said the state government would formally host the Miss Nigeria 2015 winner and directed the State Ministry of Culture and Tourism to support Peter-Vigboro in actualising her pet project during her reign.
Earlier, the beauty queen said she was in the state to present herself to the governor as an indigene who has won a coveted crown. She congratulated the governor on his victory at the polls and urged him to support her pet project targeted at the youths.
