Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has implored citizens of the state to work assiduously for nation building in their respective areas of endeavour.

Ganduje said the state was proud to have talented indigenes that had manifested honesty and diligence in various public and private undertakings, and who recently, had been found worthy of appointment into various positions by the Federal Government.

The governor made the assertion during a civic reception in honour of newly appointed indigenes of the state by the Federal Government, whose policy he said, “has parted ways with all forms of corrupt practices.”

 He expressed happiness that the Buhari administration had directed its searchlight on Kano people “to pick competent hands for efficient and effective steering of the affairs of the nation.”

Rejoicing with the appointees, the governor said: “I see myself as a father to Kano people and as you are aware ware, every father will love to see the progress of his child”.

 He enjoined people of the state to continue to make the state proud wherever they found themselves and to work hard and pray towards the success of the APC administration in the state and national levels.

 The chairman of the occasion, Professor Shehu Galadanci said the appointees have a herculean task ahead of them, stressing the need for them to remain focused and resilient towards achieving the Federal government’s change agenda.

Also speaking, Nigeria’s former ambassador to the United Nations, Yusuf Maitama Sule, Danmasanin Kano, said the country’s present economic call for all public officials to be selfless and shun all forms of corruption, to move the nation forward.

In his response on behalf of the new appointees, Prof. Abdalla Uba Adamu, who was appointed Vice Chancellor of the National Open University, promised to make Kano proud by exhibiting exceptional character and capacity.

The new appointees honoured during the occasion, which was also attend by the Minister of Internal Affaris, Gen Abdurrahman Dambazau (rtd), are Professors Auwalu Yadudu, Fatima Batul Mukhtar and Munzali Jibril, who were appointed Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Birnin Kebbi, Federal University, Dutse, and Pro chancellor/Chairman of the governing council, Federal University, Lafia respectively.
