Nigeria’s security market put at $4bn

The security market in Nigeria is estimated at $4 billion. Rapid developments in construction projects, cyber security infrastructure and residential housing developments are driving the industry despite falling oil prices.

Owing to the untapped opportunities in the industry, Securex West Africa Exhibition and Conference is coming up to cement its position as the paramount security and public safety event for the government and private sector in West Africa.

The event will take place between March 1 and 3, 2016, at the Landmark Centre, Lagos.

The Securex West Africa exhibition floor is packed with the leading global suppliers and solution providers, all demonstrating the latest technologies to those who attend. With exhibitors coming from four continents and representing a cross section of the security industry including surveillance systems, access control, fire safety, and cyber and perimeter security solutions.

Alongside the exhibition is the high-level conference which looks into the leading issues that are being faced in the West African Region. The conference has a strong speaker line up which includes Ubong King – Chairman American Society for International Security (ASIS) Nigeria, Adaba Ufoma – Nigeria LNG Limited and Abuh Adams –retired SSS Director and CEO of Otiyeke Universal Resources to name just a few.

A statement by Adewale P. Balogun, director of operations of the event, said the free- to-attend conference that runs over the full three days of the event has six themes, including homeland security, protection of critical infrastructure, corporate security, safer cities, counter terror, and the landscape of Nigeria’s security industry.

The event is closely supported by the leading National Associations such as Association of Industrial Security and Safety Operators of Nigeria (AISSON), International Institute of Professional Security (IIPS) and the Government Bodies such as the National Security Adviser, Police Force and Civil Defence Corps are all invited.
