Managing director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Saleh Dunoma, says the Port Harcourt International Airport will soon be ready for use.
Speaking recently with aviation correspondents in his office in Lagos on the pace of work at airports, Dunoma said work was ongoing at various airports across the country, adding however that the Port Harcourt airport could be ready before any other.
“Work on the terminals has gone far, especially Port Harcourt, followed by Kano, Abuja and Lagos terminals,” he said, but advised passengers to bear with the authority due to the discomfort being experienced over construction work on the site of the new terminals.
The FAAN boss said the management was making efforts to ensure that airports were secure and safe for passengers in all ramifications.
Both Chibuike Amaechi, transport minister, and Hadi Sirika, minister of state, aviation, had also assured that the airports’ terminals would be ready by the end of 2016.
