As part of its poverty alleviation programme, Eagle Flight Microfinance Bank limited has disbursed N28.5 billion to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the 2015 fiscal year.

BusinessDay reports that the chairman of the financial institution, Helen Ayo Oritsejafor made the disclosure at the 10th anniversary of the bank in Warri, Delta State weekend.

Oritsejafor who presented empowerment gifts as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility to clients disclosed that the turnover of the bank has risen to over N27 billion in the period under review.

She gave the breakdown of the disbursement to include N2.5 billion to micro-credit groups, N10.5 billion to Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and N15.5 billion to corporate bodies.

She also gave the breakdown of empowerment items presented to beneficiaries to include six cars, 20 tricycles and 100 grinding machines.

Oritsejafor posited that the empowerment was carried in collaboration with the World of Life Bible Church to give out gifts to the economically active poor in the society.

She added that the bank staff strength has grown from 10 to 112, four departments to nine, a corporate office, four branches and seven cash centres.
