Christmas is a fun time. It is an exciting time for people to splurge. More shopping means more business, for you!

If you can sink under piles of orders during the holiday season then you should not struggle to get sales the rest of the year. Learn to retain your customers.

Do you spend time chasing new businesses? Did you know that consolidating on existing customers and contacts could be far more valuable?

Are you working hard to increase your Christmas sales this year?, then you should have  started planning earlier .

You probably had been running from pillar to post all through this year trying to wrestle down strangers. In that vein, you neglect your old customers, or worst still take them for granted. Why not devote much of your marketing time and attention to keep in touch with them?

1.KEEP IN TOUCH. It is not enough to get new contacts you should equally communicate with them regularly.

The truth is that your existing customers appreciate  that you find their relationship useful. They in turn would easily reward you with referrals and new business connections, thus consistent sales.

2.KEEP RECORDS.

Have a database containing a list of your contacts. Your present and past clients include anybody you have a valued business relationship with. Never underestimate any of your customers. Accord them respect and treat them well. Reward them with discount and other incentives if you can.

3.KEEP IT UP.

Plan and be consistent. Find a means of keeping up with your contacts throughout the year. The ideal approach to marketing is not ‘Out with the old, in with the new’ Keep it up with your existing customers after all, they are already your fans! Keep your promise and never claim to provide  any service you cannot render. Keep them coming back for more by upgrading your goods and services.

4.KEEP IT REAL. Sell your uniqueness and your customers will always recognise your brand.  Avoid unhealthy competition. Be sincere about your offer. Avoiding false claims.

5.KEEPSAKE. Christmas is a season when you remember those that are dear to you. Make your clients feel special as well. Little gifts can say big things and make a lasting impression. Carve out unique ways to remain fresh in the heart of your client. Christmas messages, hampers, cards and other souvenir can be for keeps, so is your business in their minds.

6.KEEP FAITH.

Trust your instincts. Do the right things and believe in successful results. Do not let your customers drift away because they don’t feel appreciated. This is a good opportunity to thank them for their business during the past year and show them that you value their patronage. You’ll find that ‘Keep in Touch’ is a remarkably effective route to more business next year.
