The Police Service Commission (PSC) has released the list of successful candidates for the recruitment of 50,000 constables into the Nigeria Police Force.
The commission said the successful applicants emerged from what it described as a comprehensive, inclusive, equitable and transparent recruitment process conducted in partnership with key stakeholders, including the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Character Commission, the Ministry of Police Affairs, State Career and Counselling Departments, and the Police Community Relations Committee.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by Torty Kalu, PSC’s Head of Protocol and Public Relations,  the commission urged all candidates who participated in the recently concluded written examination to verify their recruitment status through the official recruitment portal, which will become accessible on Thursday.
According to the commission, successful applicants will also receive notifications via email and SMS using the contact details submitted during the application process.
The PSC said shortlisted candidates would subsequently be assigned to designated police training institutions, where they would undergo medical examinations and documentation before the commencement of training.
The dates and reporting times, it added, would be communicated in due course.
The commission warned that candidates who fail to report within the stipulated period would be deemed to have rejected the offer of appointment.
It also stressed that admission into the training programme remains subject to passing a fresh medical examination to be conducted by the Nigeria Police medical team upon resumption at the training institutions.
Candidates who fail the medical screening, the commission said, would be declared medically unfit and would not be allowed to continue with the training.
“The successful candidates are expected to report to their designated Police Training Institutions on dates and times to be communicated in due course for medical examination and documentation.
“Candidates who fail to report within the stipulated time will be considered to have declined the offer.
“In addition, those who fail the medical examination that will be conducted by the police medical team on resumption of training will be declared unfit and shall be required to leave the training.
“Candidates are to report with their training call-up slip, NIN slip, BVN slip, original and photocopies of their certificates and other required documents and items as would be listed on the recruitment portal,” the statement read.
