The enforcement team of the Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority (OYRLEA), alongside security operatives, continued its statewide enforcement exercise against illegal grazing and cattle rearing on farm settlements.

During an operation at the Haruna axis of the Ijaye Farm Settlement, the enforcement team caught herders off guard and successfully impounded 11 cows found grazing illegally within the settlement.

While exiting the farm settlement, the team intercepted and impounded one additional cow, bringing the total to 12 cows from the operation.

The enforcement exercise further extended to the Moniya–Iseyin Road, where three cows were found grazing openly by the roadside and posing a danger to motorists and other road users, 3 of which were also impounded.

In total, 15 cows were impounded during the operation, reaffirming OYRLEA’s commitment to enforcing the Oyo State Anti-Open Grazing Law and protecting farmers’ livelihoods, public safety, and the environment.

The authority reiterated its warning to herders to keep their cattle away from farm settlements, public roads, and residential communities, stressing that anyone found violating the law will face the full weight of enforcement without exception.
