The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State has set up a committee on matters relating to anti-party activities , misconduct and breaches of party rules.

This was part of the resolution the party reached at its statutory executive committee meeting held in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

“The Committee shall, in accordance with the Constitution of the Party and other applicable guidelines, receive, investigate and make appropriate recommendations to the State Executive Committee on matters relating to discipline, misconduct, breaches of Party rules, anti-party activities, and such other issues as may be referred to it,” Patrick Edeke, the party’s spokesperson said in a statement.

According to him, members of the committee include Augustine Enefiok Udoh, a lawyer who will serve as the Chairman, Kemfon Neke, also a lawyer as Secretary and Joseph Cosmos Tombere.

Other members include Akon Michael and Jeremiah Utitofon.

According to him, the committee was set up “pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and in furtherance of its commitment to strengthening internal democracy and promoting discipline.

It was also to “ensure adherence to Party rules, and preserving the unity and integrity of the Party, the State Executive Committee (EXCO),” according to the statement.

“It called on all members of the Party to remain steadfast, united, disciplined and loyal to the leadership of the Party while eschewing acts capable of undermining the collective interest, stability and electoral fortunes of the All Progressives Congress,” the statement said.
