The quarter-final line-up for the FIFA 2026 World Cup has been confirmed following the conclusion of the Round of 16, with eight nations remaining in the race to lift football’s biggest prize.

Switzerland secured the final quarter-final spot on Tuesday after defeating Colombia 4-3 on penalties following a goalless draw after extra time.
The Swiss will now face defending champions Argentina, who produced a remarkable comeback from two goals down to beat Egypt 3-2 and book their place in the last eight.
The four quarter-final ties promise plenty of intrigue, with Morocco aiming to continue Africa’s historic run against France, while England face Erling Haaland’s Norway. Spain meet Belgium in an all-European heavyweight clash, and Lionel Messi’s Argentina take on Switzerland.
