The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has condemned the Delta State House of Assembly over the declaration of the seat of Hon. Collins Egbetamah, member representing Udu Constituency, as vacant, describing the action as unconstitutional, vindictive and politically motivated.

Osa Director, the party’s National Publicity Secretary in a statement in Abuja, the NDC alleged that the lawmaker had been subjected to political persecution following his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and defection to the NDC on April 30, 2026.

According to the party, Hon. Egbetamah was originally elected on the platform of the APC and remained a minority member in the Delta State House of Assembly until Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and several lawmakers defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
